Pittsburgh: No Limits for Women!
A look at the Cities for CEDAW
Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women
Join the Pittsburghers for CEDAW coalition (New Voices Pittsburgh, the Women's International League for Peace and Freedom, Women's Law Project, Women and Girls Foundation, and Zonta Club of Pittsburgh) as they launch their campaign to make Pittsburgh a CEDAW City. CEDAW affirms the fundamental human rights and equality for women around the world. It seeks to end sex trafficking and violence against women, expand girls' access to education, ensure women's right to vote, fight maternal mortality, and end workplace discrimination against women.
Keynote speaker is June Zeitlin, Director of Human Rights Policy at The Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights, Washington, DC. Ms. Zeitlin has advocated for women's rights in the US and Internationally for over 30 years and has led the (CEDAW) Coalition for the past six years.
The event is FREE and open to the public.
