The Center for Health Equity (CHE) will participate in Pitt PARK(ing) Day, an annual one-day event held on the third Friday of September. The concept is to take an urban parking space, an otherwise dead space in an otherwise busy urban landscape, and turn it into a pop-up "installation" for a day. The event raises awareness about the importance of a livable city and helps people re-think how our streets can be utilized. Rebar, an art and design studio based in San Francisco, started the concept of PARK(ing) Day in 2005 and it is now an internationally celebrated day, with over 1000 parking spaces utilized worldwide.
Stop by the Pitt BO Lot (between Oakland Ave. & South Bouquet Street) between 9am-3pm on Friday, September 21, for an interacitve experience and learn more about health equity!
